Meeting Minutes-August 22, 2005

The regular meeting of the Laytonsville Historic District Commission (HDC) was called to order by the Chair, Sheree Wenger, at 7:30 p.m.  Commission members Ruspi, Sterling and Techter were also present.  Ms. Howes joined the meeting in progress.

Commission member Techter made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 18, 2005, meeting.  Second by Commission member Ruspi.  The minutes were approved as presented.

Old Business

·        The Chair reported she had spoken to property owner of 7115 Brink Rd in regard to HDWP 01-04.  The work permit is an extension given with stipulation that it would be reviewed in six months.  Ms. Wenger will write formal letter requesting property owner attend September HDC meeting.  A break in at this location resulting in vandalism and theft was reported.

·        Ms. Wenger reported she had no response from Elm Street Development in regard to maintenance schedule for Rolling Ridge.

·        HDC members discussed the ongoing work at 7119 Brink Rd., HDWP 02-05.  The accessory building approved is being constructed on site and not pre fabricated as previously indicated.  Ms. Wenger has checked dimensions of the structure and the size appears to be in compliance with the application.

New Business

·        Chair Wenger reported that the Town has requested Elm Street Development connect sidewalk from new development to the existing sidewalk. Plantings in the right of way at 7201 Brink Rd must be removed to allow continuation of the sidewalk.  After discussion the HDC agreed by consensus to ask all concerned parties to come in for a consultation.  Ms. Wenger will extend invitation to property owner and Elm Street Development representatives to attend September HDC meeting for consultation.  Commission members reviewed drawings of proposed development.

·        Ms. Wenger provided copies of annual letter to Mayor and Council and will present same at September town meeting.

Motion to adjourn by Mr. Techter.  Second by Ms. Sterling.  Meeting adjourned at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
