Laytonsville Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes-July 19,2004

The regular meeting of the Laytonsville Historic District Commission (HDC) was called to order by Chair Sheree Wenger. Commission members Howes, Techter, and Sterling were present. Commission member Ruspi was absent,

Mr. Techter made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 21, 2004, meeting as drafted. Ms. Howes seconded. Motion approved.

Ms. Wenger reported there were no cases or consultations before the HDC. She also reported that she has prepared a draft Annual Report for the Mayor and Council.

New Business

Ms. Sterling made a motion to re-appoint the following officers for one year:

Chair Sheree Wenger

Vice Chair Merritt Techter

Secretary Phyllis Sterling

Mr. Techter seconded. Motion approved.

The HDC will meet with Scott Whipple of the Maryland Historical Trust on August 9, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the Rotting Ridge project.

The members briefly discussed the towns existing sign ordinance and considered adopting guidelines for signs in the historic district. No action taken.
