Work Session Meeting minutes of the Town Council Work Session on May 17, 2005

As reviewed, approved and accepted by the Town Council on June 7, 2005

Mayor Oland opened the Work Session at 7:30 p.m. Council Members Charles Bradsher, and Frank Bennett, were present. Council Members David Preusch and David Halperin were absent. The Clerk was present. The Town Planner, Stanley Benning, was present. There was 1 citizen present.

Review of the Comprehensive Land Plan:

The purpose of the Work Session was to continue the review of the Comprehensive Land Plan.

A walkable community map prepared by Council Member David Presuch and Jim Ruff (Macris, Hendricks & Glascock)was reviewed. Another walkway system prepared by Stan Benning was reviewed. A combined walkway system was proposed to include access through to Golf Estates. Stan Benning recommended that the Mayor and Council include the walkway along the length of the dedicated Route 108 bypass.

The proposed walkway easement on Sunset Drive was discussed. Access through to Sundown Road Park was discussed.

Other items:

Stan Benning noted that when the new Comprehensive Land Plan map is prepared, that Parcels 662 and 663 should be included as institutional; the removal of the proposed eastern bypass should be done; and a new vicinity map should be included. Mayor Oland also noted that the engineer should compare the Land Use Map with a current Montgomery County tax map to ensure the accuracy of all parcel numbers.

The Work Session was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
